Alchemy – The ancient practice of transformation, often associated with turning base metals into gold and spiritual transformation.
Amulet – An object worn for protection against negative energies or to bring good luck.
Athame – A ritual knife used in Wiccan ceremonies, typically not for physical cutting but for directing energy.
Besom – A broom used in rituals for cleansing spaces, often associated with sweeping away negative energy.
Book of Shadows – A personal book of spells, rituals, and magickal knowledge that a witch may keep and add to over time.
Coven – A group of witches who come together to practice magick and perform rituals as a collective.
Deosil – The movement in a clockwise direction, used in rituals for drawing in positive energy.
Divination – The practice of seeking knowledge or insight about the future or unknown events, often using tools like tarot cards, runes, or a pendulum.
Esbat – A Wiccan or witchcraft ritual that is celebrated during the full moon.
Familiar – A spiritual animal companion that assists a witch in their magickal work, often thought to protect or guide.
Grimoire – A magickal textbook containing spells, rituals, and instructions for performing magick.
Handfasting – A Wiccan or Pagan marriage ceremony where the couple’s hands are tied together with a cord to symbolize their union.
Herbalism – The practice of using plants and herbs for magickal or medicinal purposes.
Incantation – A spoken spell or charm used to invoke a desired outcome, often done with focused intent.
Pentacle – A five-pointed star inside a circle, used as a symbol of protection and the elements: earth, air, fire, water, and spirit.
Ritual – A series of actions performed in a specific order for magickal or spiritual purposes.
Sabbat – One of the eight festivals in the Wiccan Wheel of the Year, celebrating seasonal changes and Pagan traditions.
Sigil – A symbol created with the intention of manifesting a desire or goal, often charged with energy and released into the universe.
Skyclad – The practice of performing rituals without clothing, symbolizing purity and connection to nature.
Widdershins – Movement in a counterclockwise direction, often used in rituals for banishing or releasing negative energy.
Witch Bottle – A jar or container filled with protective items such as herbs, nails, or sharp objects, used to ward off negative energy or curses.
Witching Hour – The time between midnight and 3 AM, often considered a powerful time for magick and connection to the spirit world.
Wand – A tool used to direct energy in rituals, often made from wood, crystal, or other materials.
Wheel of the Year – The cycle of seasonal festivals in Wicca and Paganism, marking the changing seasons and the rhythm of nature.
Yule – The winter solstice celebration in Wicca and Paganism, honoring the rebirth of the sun.
